1mφ Space Chamber can simulate high vacuum and cryogenic background of space and it is possible to evaluate the thermal design and verify the environmental durability of the spacecraft.
A cryogenic pump using 20K gaseous helium is used to simulate a high vacuum environment in this facility. The chamber has a black shroud where liquid nitrogen circulates along the surface to simulate a cold and dark environment. It is possible to evaluate the baking effect using QCM.
Since the facility has a clean booth, it can be used for thermal vacuum testing of flight model such as small satellites that require cleanliness control.
