The geomagnetic field affects the attitude of magnetized spacecraft. Thus, the magnetic moment of the spacecraft must be measured, the residual magnetism must be eliminated, and the magnetic attitude controller must be verified to prevent the interference.
This facility consists of a test dome, demagnetizing room, fore-room, equivalent coil room, and control room. The main coil of a three-axis Braunbeck system is installed in the test dome. The main coil creates a non-magnetic space in the test dome by canceling the fluctuation of Earth's magnetic field. The magnetic moments of the spacecraft or their onboard electronic equipment are measured in the non-magnetic space by the near-field technique.
